Wood protection means moisture protection. We rely on a prefabricated membrane that has been used successfully for many years on flat roofs, tunnels and landfills. This protects the wood from moisture. The permanent dryness in the wood deprives animal and plant pests of their basis for life. Moisture monitoring also reliably monitors compliance with the permissible moisture values in the wood.

We want to gradually develop from simple to more demanding tasks. For the time being, we will only realize basements in timber construction if the following requirements are met:

• The basement is in contact with the ground on a maximum of three sides. (In exceptional cases, ground contact on four sides with seepage-capable soil material and no risk of flooding on request).
• No pressing water in the excavation pit.
• Heated basements must be equipped with a ventilation system with integrated enthalpy exchanger (moisture exchanger). In the case of unheated basements, a constant exchange of air must be ensured
• Backfilling must be carried out with water-permeable material and sufficiently dimensioned drainage.
• A canopy of at least 1.0 m is required for windows on south and west facades (not applicable for light wells).
• The Timbase manufacturer's instructions must be observed for floor, exterior wall and ceiling structures.

• Timbase provides the planning, manufacture, delivery, installation and guarantee of timber basements as a total contractor.
  
• Each floor in contact with the ground is constructed entirely from cross-laminated timber by Timbase AG.
• Timbase AG is constructing all structural components and all layers in contact with the ground, such as insulation, waterproofing and moisture monitoring.
• Moisture monitoring is generally installed and monitored by Timbase.

The soil protects the waterproofing. It is therefore less at risk than membranes on roofs that are exposed to the weather, UV radiation, animal and plant pests such as roots. Should increased moisture nevertheless occur on the wood, we can take step-by-step measures. The simplest step is to do nothing. Moisture monitoring reliably indicates whether the wood is drying out again. A second step is to inject liquid plastic at the site of the damage. damage site. Other options include the localized removal of the membrane and the re-insertion of the cross laminated timber with subsequent encapsulation with the subsequent grouting with TS3 technology. In this way, we can always repair any damage that occurs.
