Appartment houses in Kanada
In British Columbia, in western Canada, three innovative homes are being built. These houses are based on a sustainable construction method in which the floor slabs are made of wood, providing an ecological and forward-looking alternative to conventional foundations. The choice of wood as the main material for the floor slabs not only supports the sustainable use of natural resources, but also reflects the traditional building methods and the First Nations' respect for nature.
Single garage Geisshölzli
In Geisshölzli in the picturesque Bernese Oberland, the different epochs of timber construction meet: The Maurer family home from 1997 shows the proven art of carpentry. In front of it stands the garage with modern TS3 and Timbase technology.
MFH Blümlimattweg 15
At Blümlimattweg 15 in Thun, Switzerland's first apartment building with a basement made of wood was built. The building is also the Living Lab of the DeepWood research project and has innovative approaches to building physics.
